Where to Stay in Vilnius
Vilnius is without question the best value city in the Baltics when it comes to accommodation. From standard 4* chains to quaint boutique hotels and hostels, Vilnius caters for all types of traveller.
Most of the larger hotels are located across the river Vilna from the Old Town, including the Radisson Blu Lietuva and Holiday Inn Vilnius. Both offer 291 and 134 rooms respectively and boast large conference and leisure facilities. The Best Western Vilnius is situated between the Radisson Blu Lietuva and Holiday Inn Vilnius and completes the trio of hotels that sit next to each other, ideal for large groups attending conferences.
Moving towards the Vilnius Old Town, the 4* Congress hotel is in a great location. Just outside the Old Town but on the right side of the river, the 80 rooms cater perfectly for both leisure and corporate groups. Situated on the famous and busy Gedaminus street is the Novotel Vilnius, perhaps the hotel with the best location if you want to be at the centre of everything.
Vilnius isn’t all about large hotels and conference facilities, in the UNESCO Heritage Old Town the narrow streets hide some cozy boutique hotels. The Irish owned Hotel Tilto is one of the best, with elements of both Irish and Lithuanian history flowing through the hotel.
If you are visiting Vilnius on a budget, there are several hostel options depending on your style. If you are looking for the backpacker style then the Jimmy Jumps is your best bet. Winners of various hostel awards, including best Hostel in Lithuania 2012 and 2013, the hostels location is as good as it gets.
